New 4k Camera Added to TOP Production Line-up

  |   Business, Photography, Technology, Uncategorized

Hello again from the wonderful world of Take One Productions.

We haven’t posted for a minute. That’s because we’ve been busy bringing the awesome to our customers via location and post-production.

We do have some great new shop news to share with you.

Here’s the FX3 shown with an operator (Matty Ice) for scale. The camera is sensitive to light so we always have ND handy.

We’re proud to announce the addition of the Sony® IMLE FX3 to our image acquisition production line-up. The FX3 is a sleek little number that packs a lot of capabilities into it’s DSLR looking chassis. Here are a few specs…Because data beautiful!

THE SPECS

It has a 12.1MP Full-Frame CMOS Exmor R Sensor capable “seeing” 15 stops of dynamic range and recording images in UHD 4K (3840 x2160) in all the broadcast frame rate flavors and can over-crank to 120fps. In High Definition 1080p it can over-crank up to 240fps. It records to the sturdy Sony CF express (type A) card in 10-Bit 4:2:2 XAVC S-I for superior image quality recording. It will also output 16bit RAW images if that is required. The cool kids love the gamma curve settings and the FX3 comes with some excellent modes for that including Sony’s S-Cinetone and S-Log 3. Additionally, the FX3 has robust auto-focus features, which along with its’ smaller size, makes it the new 1st pick to fly on our Zhiyun Crane S3 gimbal.

Take One Production's Sony line-up. The FX3 on the left the FX/6 on the right

The camera on the right used to be the small one. We outfitted both Sony cameras with Zacuto Kameleon viewfinders.

What attracted us to the FX3 was the imaging chip set is nearly identical to those of our IMLE FX/6. It’s small size and the shared media platform (Express CF) were also draws. It seems more and more businesses are expecting multicamera packages for their production and the FX3 aptly fills the role of a B-camera unit.

Because Sony is, you know, SONY, of course the menu structure of the FX3 is unique unto itself. It is similar enough to the Alpha series cameras that a few minutes with the camera and a trusted YouTube source desired results have been achievable quickly.

FX3 and FX/6 on location in a manufacturing setting

Since the cameras have similar chip sets, we have used them to reduce time on location shooting wide and close-ups simultaneously,

We have used our FX3 on a few location productions and can confirm the FX3 makes nice images.

Give us a call and we’ll show you how it can work for you and your business.

Until next time, continue to be awesome!
